Transitioning
As you may have noticed, the SD-14 Yahoo! Group has gotten rather busy lately. I love that we're having conversations, but it's starting to impact a number of people who rely on this list for announcements only. Inboxes are getting stuffed to overflowing, and we're having a number of folks drop their subscriptions.
So...on to the blog. Let's transition the discussions here. Once we've established this blog, we'll knock the Yahoo! Group back to announcement only (which was its original purpose).
Some ground rules:
1. Keep it civil.
2. Don't post anything that you wouldn't want displayed in the breakroom at the office.
3. We will occasionally have to agree to disagree. That's the beauty of being in the Big Tent Party.
We have a lot of strong opinions, fervent passions, and reasoned arguments. Let's try to keep the lines open and work together to elect Democrats around the state, the nation, and in particular, in Senate District 14.
Thanks,
Susan

Welcome
Congratulations on making it through the State Convention June 6 & 7! Upon the adjournment of the convention, the new SDEC term began. Garry Brown and I are the new SDEC Committee representatives from Senate District 14.
I'm setting up this blog as a place for us to gather. Fran Vincent and Rich Bailey set up a Yahoo! Group for SD-14 members to keep in touch, but the discussion that ensued after the convention is proving to be rather voluminous. I thought it might be useful for us to have an online community where we can amass information, get to know one another, and get ready for the exciting times ahead of us.
Once we get through the election in November, we'll have the 81st Regular Session of the Texas Legislature. Proof that there's no rest for the weary.
I'm still feeling my way around setting up a blog. Things will change as I get my bearing, but I hope you'll consider using this tool as a way to keep in touch and keep informed.
